DONATIONS AND GIFTS
You can donate book sale items, money, services (gifts in kind) of nearly any description, and make a donation in memory or in honor of someone – and your donation is 100% tax deductible. See below for details.

DONATE BOOKS, ETC.
Please read the guidelines below before you donate. Items can be dropped off in the lobby of the John Steinbeck Public Library (there’s a bin to the left of the front door) at 350 Lincoln Avenue.

All donations are tax deductible. Need a receipt? Send your name, address and short description of the items donated (e.g., number of books, or number of boxes) to booksale@fospl.org.

Remember – it’s a donation, not a dump! IF IN DOUBT, ASK FIRST! For large donations (10 or more boxes), we can arrange pick-up. Please have items packed flat in boxes (spine up injures the book). Send any donation questions or requests to booksale@fospl.org.

If you’re donating books for someone who has gone into a retirement home or from an estate, please check them for personal items! We’ve had family photos and papers turn up in books, and there’s often no way to return them.
